Overview

The 5th arrondissement is one of the centrally located left bank arrondissements.  It borders on the Seine, the 13th (southern border), and the 6th (western border).  It is known for its large student population and its long list of schools and universities all located in the 5th.  The neighborhoods include the famous Latin Quarter, the Sorbonne (Paris University), the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, the Boulevard St. Michel and the rue Mouffetard.
